Dynamic Monthly Forums
Connect with other parents and carers, and engage with professionals working in education, health and social care.
A vibrant community of parents and carers working together to make a difference for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across Hackney.
We bring families, professionals and local decision-makers together to ensure that parent carer voices are heard, valued and reflected in the services that support our children and young people.
Who we are
We are a vibrant and dedicated community of parents and carers of children and young people aged 0–25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
HSPCF provides a space where families can connect, share experiences, raise concerns and work together to influence the services that affect their lives.
We believe that parents and carers are experts in their children's experiences, and their voices should help shape local SEND provision.
Every parent carer's experience matters.
Bringing families and professionals together.
Turning shared experiences into positive change.
What we do
HSPCF provides opportunities for parents and carers to connect, influence decisions, share experiences and help shape SEND services across Hackney.
Connect with other parents and carers, and engage with professionals working in education, health and social care.
Parent carer representatives attend important meetings and advocate for the needs, rights and experiences of SEND families.
We gather and share the views and experiences of families, ensuring that local decision-makers understand what matters to our community.
Keep up to date with important local and national SEND news, developments, resources and opportunities.
Parents and carers help guide the direction and priorities of our forum through their feedback and lived experiences.
Providing support, direction and leadership to HSPCF as we continue to develop and strengthen our community.
An important new chapter
HSPCF is working towards becoming a fully independent parent carer forum.
City & Hackney Carers Centre is no longer our organisational host, but it will continue to act as our financial host during this transition.
Our purpose, values and commitment to Hackney SEND families remain unchanged.
As we move towards greater independence, we remain committed to ensuring that parents and carers have a meaningful voice in shaping local SEND services.
