Do you understand the changes the government is proposing to the SEND system in the Schools White Paper?
Are you feeling confused and overwhelmed by all the question in the national SEND Reforms consultation?
While this consultation is really important and has some positives, it can also feel complicated.
We want to offer this opportunity to review the proposals and discuss your concerns ahead of responding to the consultation.
Join Hackney’s SEND Parents Carer Forum, Hackney SENDIAGS, and Hackney’s SEND Local Offer and Participation lead for this session focussed on understanding the key changes and their implications.
We will explore the proposals and consultation and provide some resources to help break it down meaningfully.
We will stay after the presentation to support you, encourage your individual response, or capture your views to be submitted as a joint response.
Because this is an interactive session it will not be recorded.

Refreshments: A light lunch will be provided for those attending in person.
It is really important that parents and carers respond to the consultation which closes at 11:59 pm on the 18th May.
The proposed changes will affect all our children and young people in education and those who are new to the system.
